Psychological and socio-legal challenges in dealing with a rare disease
The diagnosis of a rare disease turns family life upside down. While the medical aspects are usually sufficiently covered, families are faced with a variety of psychological and socio-legal challenges. How do you deal with the diagnosis? How to deal with the grieving process? What legal hurdles need to be overcome? In this year's panel, experts and affected parents will discuss which strategies help in everyday life and what help is available. And the children can also look forward to an exciting program with chocolate figurines, the creation of a special work of art and, of course, exploring the paths of knowledge. Due to the current threat situation caused by the coronavirus, we have made intensive clarifications within the Board and with medical experts regarding the implementation of the 9th KMSK Family Forum on Saturday, February 29, 2020. The Board of Directors and the Executive Board have now come to the conclusion that the event will be canceled for safety reasons.
We deeply regret this development. However, the health of our young and old participants is our top priority and we must take our responsibility seriously. We hope for your understanding and thank you very much!
