For Benedikt

Help and give Benedikt a better quality of life!

Benedikt likes anything that is fast and moves. If he can be involved, that's the best thing for him - whether it's driving, dual skiing or cycling. His parents try to involve him in all activities as much as possible. The 10-year-old cannot ride a bike independently. The tandem would make the sporty family so mobile that they could go on lots of family outings, Benedikt's development would be encouraged and everyone could enjoy carefree moments.

Cycling for Benedikt

Benedikt has developed well despite his disability. His hospital stays have decreased, he has learned to walk, he cannot speak but understands a lot and is beginning to communicate with a communication device. Benedikt still has mental and physical disabilities and cannot ride a bike independently. When his parents discovered the tandem, they immediately fell in love. At last, the four of them could cycle again. They describe the special feature: ,,Benedikt sits in front of us, sees the landscape, can pedal along and the rider can talk to him." A test ride reinforced their desire.

Benedikt's family thanks you for your donation

Life with Benedikt, who has a great urge to move but can only walk short distances, is very strenuous. With the Hasebike, he would experience what it is like to get around under his own steam. With the help of his parents, of course, and later even his sister, who support him by riding the tandem. The bike is not paid for by the IV as a "leisure device" and is difficult for the parents to afford. On behalf of Benedikt, his parents would like to thank all donors for their donations!

Support association for children with rare diseases
Around 350,000 children and young people in Switzerland are affected by a rare disease.

Everyday life for these families is characterized by uncertainty, especially when there is no diagnosis yet. The Support Association for Children with Rare Diseases has been committed to helping affected children and their families since 2014. We provide direct financial support, create free family events (more than 2,200 family members were able to take part in 2019) to connect affected families and raise awareness of rare diseases among the general public. We rely on donations, legacies and patronage contributions to make this possible in the future.
